BIG UP SOUTHEND.


Big Up Southend, a local community organization based in Southend, has a mission to promote the town's culture, events, and businesses, fostering a strong sense of community while celebrating the unique qualities of Southend. In order to boost brand awareness and advertising, they sought our assistance in crafting a comprehensive branding package.

The main objective of this project was to develop a unified brand identity for Big Up Southend, embodying their inviting, fun, and creative values. BC Media took on the responsibility of designing various graphic elements, which encompassed the creation of a logo and its variations, defining a suitable color palette, selecting brand typography, creating brand assets, marketing materials, and establishing brand guidelines. The ultimate aim was to provide Big Up Southend with an aesthetically pleasing and consistent brand image, effectively captivating their target audience and establishing a recognizable presence within the community.


The design process for the Big Up Southend project involved several key steps to create a cohesive brand identity:

Initial Consultation:
BC Media engaged in a thorough consultation with the Big Up Southend team. This allowed us to grasp their brand values, target audience, and design preferences, providing a solid foundation for the project's creative direction.

Mood Boards:
To explore different design concepts aligned with the desired brand identity, we prepared two distinct mood boards. Each mood board showcased a unique visual direction, incorporating colors, imagery, and typography. The Big Up Southend team then selected the mood board that resonated best with their vision.

Logo Design:
Building on the chosen mood board, BC Media proceeded to craft the Big Up Southend logo. The logo design embodied the essence of the brand, and through iterative feedback sessions with the client, we refined it until achieving the final design.

Branding Elements:
In addition to the logo, BC Media developed a comprehensive set of branding elements, encompassing a color palette, typography, and brand assets. The color palette consisted of vibrant pastel colors, reflecting the lively spirit of Southend, while the selected typography struck a balance between creativity, fun, and readability.

Marketing Materials:
To support Big Up Southend's promotional efforts, we created various marketing materials. These included print materials such as flyers, posters, and banners, as well as digital assets for social media and the organization's website. Ensuring consistent presentation, these materials showcased the new brand identity across all channels, enhancing brand recognition and maintaining a unified visual presence.

Brand Guidelines:
To guarantee brand consistency, we prepared comprehensive brand guidelines for Big Up Southend. These guidelines detailed the proper usage of the logo, color palette, typography, and brand assets across various applications. The document served as a reference for both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring a cohesive visual identity for the brand.

Tools Used:
BC Media employed industry-standard design software like Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop to create the graphic elements for Big Up Southend. Leveraging the power of these tools enabled our team to produce high-quality deliverables that aligned perfectly with the client's vision.
